TWO
PAIRS INDIAN CLUBS .....SOLD
American,
ca. late 19th to early 20th century. Although used as
exercise
and amusement in period, Indian clubs have found a place in collected
American folk art due to their unqiue shape and often colorful
decorations. Sophisticated Indian club collections may total
dozens of pairs, while other collectors use them as spot color
throughout the home. One pair in bright bittersweet with
black
trim, the other in faux mahogany paint. See "Indian Clubs",
Alice
Hoffman, for reference..
