New England Dry Measure
.....SALE PENDING

Likely Maine, ca. late 18th/early 19th century.

Original dry surface on what appears to be pine staves with ash bands, the bands joined by gorgeous large wooden pegs and copper nails. Carved handle. The form and presence are so appealing!

Likely a large dry measure for grain. Exceptional condition with maybe one replaced nail. Soft and smooth to the touch. Pencil inscription underneath reads: THOMASTON MAINE.

Bold large size at about 6 ¾ inches tall x 8 diameter (not including handle).
